One of my favourite people in Barrie sent me this clutter article. Thank you, Peggy, for allowing me to help you with your organizing journey and for sharing this article.

This article is a great read for everyone. This article provides some great insight for your own clutter issues. Or if you have a loved one who is challenged by too much stuff here’s help.

And please remember that just because you or loved one have some clutter orown excess number of items doesn’t make you or them a hoarder.

In the words of Ellen DeGeneres “be kind to one another.”

The clutter strategies in this article are all the things
that I believe in and share as a professional organizer.

Here are 3 areas that might be gravely harmed by the amount of clutter in your home, your businesses and your life.

1. Financial burden. If you have watched TV personality Gail Vaz-Oxlade of “Til Debt Do Us Part” or “Princess” you understand how over spending on “stuff” can harm your life and your financial future.

2. Mental anxiety. Here’s a bit of proof. “This is the very first study to step inside 21st-century family homes to discover the material surroundings and vast number of possessions that organize and give meaning to the everyday lives of middle-class parents and children,” said co-author Elinor Ochs, a UCLA anthropologist and director of CELF.

3. Emotional strain. How do I make room for a romantic relationship in my life…when there is no place for him or her to even hang a jacket or hat?

Your belongings don’t need to have jurisdiction
over your life, nor do you need to make
special accommodations for them.
